Wow, June is flying by! We did another annual bike rodeo day for the Cascades Academy school. Kirt does the melon drop in and out of the helmet off the van to show kids the importance of wearing a helmet... There are skinny planks to practice, they do a slow race, then off to the pumptrack and jumps. Always a good time and the 3rd graders become hooked on bikes!

Katie Holden Took the Gold in the Chainless DH and looked so darn cute in her polka dot dress. All of us were proud just to finish and not crash in dresses!! I am thankful for my Fox pads because I went down in practice!! FULL PHOTO GALLERY HERE

I, Lindsey, was honored to be invited by Rebecca Rusch as a fellow Specialized and SRAM athlete, to help motivate more women to enjoy riding mountain bikes. The Second annual Beti Bike Bash all women's race was held on a sunny June weekend in Lakewood, CO.
The Saturday before the race, Rebecca, myself, Krista Park, Heather Irmiger and Jenny Smith split off into groups to pre ride the course with ladies and give pointers and help them feel more comfortable on their bikes. I cannot believe the amount of women and families who came out for this great event! It was a weekend of inspiration, personal growth and lady love all around. Thanks to the Sram boys and the Yeti Beti's who made this experience even brighter than it already was.
I got home Sunday night, Kirt flew out to Sun Valley, ID Monday morning for a 5 day Smith Optics lifestyle photoshoot. He was honored to join some amazing athletes like JT Holmes, Sarah Burke and Brad Ludden to name a few.
Meanwhile, I unpacked, then repacked, loaded 4 Safires onto the Van and headed to Ashland, OR for the Ashland Mt Challenge.
Rebecca Rusch, as another stop on her Gold Rusch tour, along with myself and Katie Holden, hosted a group of media ladies from different publications and shared the Super D race experience with them. We stayed in a beautiful home and had a bonding weekend to remember. They rode our Sram 2x10 outfitted Safires and learned about the product. We took them on instructional rides, we dressed in silly costumes for the Avid Chainless DH, we witnessed them overcome obstacles and fear and we laughed and hugged a lot over the course of 4 amazing days.
Check the results here. Rebecca, Katie and I gave it our best shots in the race, but more importantly we had a blast spending most of our time making sure the ladies were comfortable on their bikes down that course. It was by far one of the most inspirational weekends yet! Great job ladies!!
Evelyn NEVER stopped smiling after crashing. Hero of the trip!
