Crankworx Whistler was a great event this year. Kirt and the Academy kids raced all over the place... They hit up the Dual Slalom, Canadian Open DH, Air DH and pumptrack races. Everyone did great and had a blast mingling with fans and riding with new friends and sponsors. Whistler is always a good time. If you missed our video, please check it out here: WHISTLER VIDEO.

Kirt left Whistler Crankworx on the final Saturday of the event to get home and clean out the van Sunday only to turn around and head down to Park City, UT for a dealer camp we attended on behalf of Camelbak and took some lucky people on rides. We met up with Camelbak athlete Eric Porter and hit the sweet Park City Trails. We put some Specialized Demo bikes at a few of our sponsor booths, but the turnout for the event wasn't the best. Maybe next time?

Early in the year we were invited to attend the Western Open which is a downhill race that benefits the promoter's young daughter, Lola, who contracted a virus at 2 years old and it attacked her brain. She lived the first 2 years of her life as a perfectly healthy, happy little girl, now she can barely speak and has lasting brain damage. We were honored to be requested at such a fun and meaningful event. It was a weekend filled with great riding and mountain bike bonding at it's finest. Kirt was able to ride the famous Mount 7 along with Brett Tippie and some ripping Canadian maniacs. Kirt, Colin and Tippie all admitted to being scared before they dropped into the old Red Bull Psychosis course. But of course, they all loved it! Check out photos of the event on Pinkbike here.
I, Lindsey, gave my first official Ladies AllRide Clinic with my newfound teaching skills, along with my friend Erika who was the perfect co-coach as she reminded me to shut up if I explained too much. The ladies all progressed before our eyes and it was another rewarding experience for me and brought my teaching confidence up a notch.
Cierra and Austin represented for the Academy and raced a course unlike any they had raced before. Kicking Horse resort trails are super fun, steep and gnarly. The race course itself was especially difficult and they were both happy to get down unscathed.
Austin before his race run. Amazing Scenery!
Kirt is currently teaching a Summer Gravity Camp in Whistler.
