July started out with a bang as I, Lindsey headed to Sun Valley, ID for the US xc National championships. It was my second stop on the Gold Rusch Tour with super endurance stud and "queen of pain", Rebecca Rusch. Rebecca and I share a mission to get more women on bikes and enhance the skills and riding experiences for female mountain bikers everywhere! We hosted some lovely women in the media and did skills clinics and big rides. We attended and hosted dinners with pro riders and Olympians and we were fed by world reknowned Tour De France Chef Biju Thomas. It was a great week!

Finally: Crankworx - Whistler
One of the biggest bike festivals in the world, Crankworx is always a ripping good time. For the past few years Kirt has contributed to the festival by hosting a unique event that brings the fans/riders together with the pros, like the Karaoke kick-out jump jam. This year he designed and helped build the Dual Speed and Style event. He has dreamed about an event like this for a decade and he was finally able to see his dream come true. The freeride tricksters and the racers went head to head for time down a racer/freeride friendly course. Freeriders got time bonuses for big tricks, but it was still hard to beat the fast racers with flat corners and tight turns.
Kirt charges a practice run-Dual Speed and Style
The runs for 3rd and 4th and the finals ended up being freerider against racer and it was a close call. Brendan Fairclough won, so this time it went to a racer. What will happen next time? It was SWEET!
Kirt and Academy Riders Austin and Cierra raced the Air DH on the famous A-Line trail. Austin had a mechanical, Cierra raced her heart out with injured wrists and Kirt was in the hot seat for a bit before taken out by some fresh World Cup racers and of course, Lopes, who got second to world champ contender Stevie Smith.
The morning before Air DH, Kirt headed to the top of the mountain at 5 am for a sunrise shoot with Clif Bar and Harookz behind the lens. He said it was amazing up there at sunrise. AND Kirt killed it in the (un)official whip-off contest on his Stumpjumper!! Check it out here: Pinkbike
Kirt in the hot seat during Air DH
I squeezed in some guiding and did a few 3-day Umpqua tours for Cog Wild Mountain Bike Tours. I love sharing that trail with people from all over the world.
UP NEXT: Heading to RETALLCK lodge, our favorite back country mountain bike lodge in Canada where Kirt will be shooting and riding.
I will be teaching a women's downhill skills clinic Sept 13-16 with super rad Canadian shredder, Lorraine Blancher... We stay in a lodge with trails out the front door. There's Yoga, gourmet food, green smoothies, hot tub and a HELICOPTER DROP for an AWESOME all day DH experience. Come! It's a life changer!

While I was away, Kirt slaved away constructing his new training structure in the yard. Oh boy.
Skate / Bike / Photoshoot / Video Mecca
Then it was off to the Oregon Enduro stop 3: Hood River, OR. Hood River rules! The course was fast and fun. The crazy moment was when Kirt started two minutes behind me on the last leg and caught me right at the finish and we crossed the line together. It was quite the spectacle. Of course. My Dad got it on video. cute.

Lindsey and Academy Rider Cierra Smith head to Kicking Horse Resort near Golden, BC to teach a clinic at the Western Open
The Western Open is a charity race for a young girl, Lola who needs constant medical attention. We volunteered our time to give a free clinic and hang out with some big personalities in the bike world. We set up an AllRide pit area for a young gun we support from Canada, Ben Yeager. He's such a sweetheart and made AllRide his home during the race.

During Crankworx, I was a lead coach at Stop 5 on the Gold Rusch Tour with Rebecca Rusch. Teaching up there is heavenly!
We offered free clinics each morning to ladies wanting to brush up on their technical climbing and descending skills. It was a huge success with the numbers growing each day.
And we took Rebecca on her first lift-assisted downhill run ever!! She did awesome!! (First time NOT pedaling)
I got to ride the Top of the world trail down the backside of Whistler with some of our sponsors and a vice president at whistler/blackcomb as our guide. Pretty lucky and stoked! It's on GoPro! Whoot!
GO RIDE YOUR BIKE!
